1st Day of School

We have a 2nd grader and a Kindergartener:
The night before

I had to take Elaina to school for the first day and stay to help her with her first project.  She was so ready to get started!!
This was their snack for the 1st day- Kissing Hand cookies

Audrey was so worn out by all of the excitement that I found her asleep on the floor in her bedroom later that afternoon.

Elaina's 1st bus ride

My view on the walk home from the bus stop- Audrey just wants to be like the other kids and has carried Elaina's old backpack to and from the bus stop everyday so far!

Girly Girl

Audrey has become quite the Girly Girl.  Not only does she want to wear a dress everyday, she is obsessed with barrettes and other accessories.  She decorates her stuffed animals with them and has recently discovered that if she puts them in her hair the right way they resemble dangly earrings.  She even picks out 'matching' colors!

Niagra Falls

We made a quick stop at Niagra Falls on our way home to PA.  It was so cloudy and drizzly that it was hard to get the full effect but the kids were still impressed.
Goat Island was the best place for us to start- maybe we'll hit Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds in a few years and give them the full effect!

40th Anniversary

We celebrated my parent's 40th anniversary while we were all together.  We love you, Mom and Dad!

Family Reunion

We have had so much fun with family all summer and it continued into August when my parents, and all of my siblings, their husbands and kids came to Pittsburgh and stayed with us.  We had 17 people staying here, 9 of which were kids ages 1-7.  We met up with some other extended family from Ohio for a Hubbard family reunion and I was able to see some cousins I hadn't seen in over 10 years.
Off to the blueberry patch!

VBS cousins and buddies!

The whole gang

The Colorado cousins were especially excited about going for a walk in the rain- I forgot that I didn't even own an umbrella after living there for 7 years!

Zoo

The one thing we did not do last summer that I regretted was that we didn't make it to the zoo, so I made sure we got there this year.  We had a great day and even bought a membership, so hopefully we will get there a bunch more times before next summer!

The penguins always put on a good show for us!

I think the pictures express what a fun day we had!
